On June 2, at GO! My Tho, Tien Giang Province, Central Retail in Vietnam in collaboration with the Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade, under the direction of Tien Giang Province People’s Committee held a kick-off ceremony for Fruit Festival 2022 starting from 2nd to 5th June 2022 at GO! My Tho.

At the event, Central Retail was honored to welcome Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Chairman of Tien Giang province People’s Committee, Deputy Chairman of Bac Giang province People’s Committee, The Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and Delegates from An Giang province and Dong Thap province and representatives of farmer households, cooperatives to join the ceremony and visit the booths.

The initiative for Fruit Festival starts with the traditional culture of the Double Fifth Festival when the ripe fruit season begins in the South and the lychee harvest time is in the North. Central Retail wishes to own this event and will be doing every year to gradually turn it into the “Vietnam Tropical Fruit Festival”. By doing so, it would help boosting local consumption and create opportunities for export of these products of excellence.

The Ceremony with the kick-off gong beating will officially launch the fruit promotion at our retail store chain including GO!, Big C, Tops Market, and mini go! to boost the consumption of specialty fruits from Tien Giang province, lychee from Bac Giang province and fruit in the season from other regions across the country.
