Central Retail received the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of People's Committee of Dong Xuyen commune

Central Retail in Vietnam organized the ceremony to hand over the multi-function hall of Dong Xuyen Primary and Secondary School at Dong Xuyen Commune with a total donation of VND 2 billion and a second sponsorship to An Thanh Primary & Secondary School of approximately VND 500 million to improve school infrastructure and educational equipment. SuperSports presented sports equipment and clothing to both schools with a donation of VND 700 million. On this occasion, Central Retail in Vietnam received a Certificate of Merit from Dong Xuyen People's Committee for its contributions to the development of local education.

At the Launching Ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2022 held by Vietnam Red Cross Society, the representative of Central Retail in Vietnam received certificate and flowers from the President of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc in recognition of our contributions and support to the community. The total amount of money raised in 5 years (from now until April 25, 2022) – estimated of VND 2 billion, will be transferred to the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s fund for deploying the “Clean Kitchen, Delicious Rice” model for poor students, and students with disabilities from full, and flexi boarding schools in deprived communes in mountainous, and border areas.

On November 17, 2021, Central Retail was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the HCMC’s Vietnam Fatherland Front for their "Outstanding Contribution to the City in Participating in Supporting of Covid-19 pandemic Prevention and Control Activities". Central Retail in Vietnam has donated the amount of VND 10 billion to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to speed up the Covid-19 vaccination program and 1,500 folding beds that worth more than VND 750 million to the Field Hospital 7 & 8 in Thu Duc City in response to the government's call to support Ho Chi Minh City fighting against the surge of Covid-19.

At the "Conference on summary of assurance of food and essentials for HCMC people during the Covid-19 outbreak" took place at the City Hall last Friday 12th of November 2021, Mrs. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Chairperson of the HCMC People's Committee has presented the Certificate of Merit from the HCMC People's Committee to Central Retail’s retail channels including GO!, Big C, and Tops Market for their "Excellent Contribution to the City in the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic". During the 4th wave, Central Retail’s retail channels have joined hands with the City government in maintaining price stability and sufficient supply of food and essentials to best meet the needs of the people; secondly in providing food relief combo to the city residents during the strict isolation period as well as making donation to the Covid-19 vaccine fund.

Central Retail has been joining hands with MARD and jointly contributing to reduce the pandemic impact to agricultural supply chain through various initiatives, including the donation of VND 1 billion to procure 10,000 combos of agricultural products from the Mekong Delta river to support Covid-hit communities in HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, etc. as well as promotional programs to booth consumption and support farmers in tough times throughout our nationwide stores of GO!, Big C and Tops Market.

On 21 October 2021, Central Retail in Vietnam was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Industry and Trade for “outstanding achievements to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the foundation of Vietnam’s Industry and Trade.” So far, Central Retail has been in close collaboration with MOIT, MARD as well as localities across the country to successfully organize promotional programs for Vietnamese brands and specialty agricultural products, including 7 Weekend Farmers Markets at GO!/Big C, nearly 10 seasonal specialty promotion weeks (Sa Pa Salmon, Bac Giang Lychee, Dong Thap Pangasius, etc.) and the event "Made in Vietnam - Essence of Vietnam" designed to promote high-quality Vietnamese products to consumers across the country.

This is an annual program held by the prestigious newspaper to honor businesses with financial capacity; investment in brand image; sustainable operations; community development advocacy and awareness of protecting the living environment. The award in 2020 was a remarkable one since businesses nationwide had to strive for operational and customer excellence while battling against the Covid-19 pandemic. The award was given to the outstanding firms across industries, including real estate (Hung Thinh Land, Him Lam, etc.), retail (Big C, Saigon Co.op, etc.), hotels & resorts (Vinpearl, Vien Dong, etc.), and tourism (Saigontourist, TST tourist, etc.).
