From 18 – 26 April 2020, Big C store chain in Hanoi and across the Northern region organized the “Imported Pork Week” for the first time, introducing imported European products with clear origin and testing records. During the week, the discount of up to 34% was applied to help lower the price – which is already 37% less than domestic pork products, bringing a new choice of meat for customers.
A representative of Central Retail in Vietnam said: “The program is designed to introduce the European pork products to consumers as the alternative choice besides domestic products.” The program is expected to consume tons of imported pork products, thus contributing to lower the domestic pork price and reducing pressure on consumers.
