On June 1st, at Big C Thang Long (Hanoi), Central Retail in Vietnam and the Investment Promotion Center of Son La Province collaborated to organize the Opening Ceremony of the Week of Plums and Safe Agricultural Products. This special occasion, which ran until June 5th, showcased the finest agricultural offerings from Son La Province and various other regions in Vietnam.
Central Retail in Vietnam was honored to be entrusted by Son La Province as the reputable retailer to co-host this important event.
We were pleased to welcome distinguished guests, including Provincial Leaders, such as Mr. Luong Quoc Doan – Chairman of Vietnam Farmers’ Union, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Son La Province, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, National Assembly, Farmers’ Association, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, and others.
The ceremony featured the participation of numerous businesses and cooperatives, with 30 booths showcasing products from the region. Visitors had the opportunity to explore Son La’s certified safe and high-quality and organic agricultural goods, with GlobalGAP, VietGAP standards, including plums, mangoes, tea, vegetables, and processed items.
During the event, the company signed two significant agreements. The first agreement established a partnership for agricultural product consumption between Central Retail Vietnam, Son La Province, and other provinces and cities. The second agreement focused on collaboration between Central Retail Vietnam and local businesses and cooperatives in Son La Province, fostering increased consumption of agricultural products.
Son La’s agricultural products have gained popularity at Central Retail’s GO!, Big C, and Tops Market stores. In 2022 alone, the consumption of Son La agricultural products increased by a remarkable 20 times, with cabbage products experiencing a staggering 80-fold increase in sales.
The Opening Ceremony of the Week of Plums and Safe Agricultural Products was a significant event, highlighting the rich agricultural heritage of Son La Province and other regions in Vietnam. It showcased the dedication of Central Retail in promoting the consumption of Son La’s agricultural products and in supporting local farmers and businesses, while providing customers with access to high-quality, safe, and delicious produce.
