Central Retail in Vietnam joined hands with the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Thap Province and organized the Dong Thap Lotus Week

On May 9th, Central Retail in Vietnam joined hands with the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Thap Province and organized the Dong Thap Lotus Week event for the first time at GO! Nguyen Thi Thap. The purpose was to introduce and promote the image and products of Dong Thap Province, specifically the lotus, and to connect with retail partners within the Central Retail system.

The event was honored to have the participation of Ms. Vo Phuong Thuy – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Thap province; Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade and Business representatives.

With a vision to jointly promote and elevate Vietnamese products, Central Retail prioritizes local specialties, specifically Dong Thap’s lotus. The company expects consumers to visit and shop at GO! Hypermarket to be interested in and support Dong Thap’s lotus products. This contributes to building and developing the local agricultural brand of Vietnam, creating stable outlets for farmers and cooperatives to expand production and business sustainably.

The Dong Thap Lotus Week runs from now until May 12th, featuring the participation of representatives from various enterprises and businesses, showcasing 40 lotus products such as lotus leaf tea bags, lotus heart tea bags, dried lotus seeds, lotus detox water, lotus seed milk powder, etc. All products are produced according to standardized processes, ensuring food safety and quality.

Throughout the event, GO! Nguyen Thi Thap also introduces fresh lotus products and various ready-to-eat lotus dishes. Simultaneously, the organizing committee conducts essential activities such as connecting with retail partners for Dong Thap lotus products and Product experiences.

Dong Thap is one of the agricultural production and processing centers in the Mekong Delta region. Besides its strengths in rice and fruit trees, lotus is a unique product with the brand of Dong Thap Province, possessing high economic value and potential for tourism development. It is one of the key sectors identified in the Province’s Agricultural Restructuring Project. Currently, Dong Thap has over 40 production and trading establishments of lotus food products; 56 OCOP (One Commune One Product) products made from lotus and 04 lotus-based products have been granted the right to use the “Made in Dong Thap” trademark certification, gradually affirming the quality and reputation of Dong Thap lotus products.
