On 4 April 2026, Central Retail had the honour of welcoming a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Mr Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, for an official visit at CentralwOrld in Bangkok. The visit took place against a meaningful backdrop, as Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City continue to deepen their cooperative relationship between the two localities, which established their sister-city ties in 2015.

During the working session, representatives of Central Group/ Central Retail presented an overview of their 14-year journey in Vietnam, reaffirming their position as a leading foreign-invested retailer and a proactive contributor to foreign direct investment inflows, as well as to the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Central Retail reiterated its commitment to expanding its footprint in the city, with plans to further develop GO! and mini go! formats over the next five years. Alongside growth ambitions, the Group continues to prioritise its Green Transformation roadmap, with a clear focus on achieving Net Zero ambition of the country.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Thailand diplomatic relations (6 August 1976 – 6 August 2026), Central Retail is planning to host “Vietnam Week in Thailand 2026” this September at CentralwOrld. The event will serve as a strategic platform to promote signature products from Ho Chi Minh City, enabling local businesses to access regional and international markets.

The visit reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between Ho Chi Minh City and Central Retail, providing further momentum for the Group to advance its role as a trusted strategic partner, contributing to the city’s modern and sustainable development.
