Central Retail Vietnam and Sparklo join forces for Sustainable Development in Vietnam

On June 3, 2024 at GO! Mall An Lac (HCMC) – Central Retail in Vietnam and SPARKLO, a global cleantech company, have officially signed a partnership agreement to implement the Recycling Initiative. This initiative involves installing modern Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) – Sparklomats – across Central Retail’s GO! Mall Vietnam network nationwide.

The joining forces Initiative is aim to inspire, encourage our visitors, customers moving towards a hashtag#green & hashtag#zerowaste lifestyle and contribute to the advancement of hashtag#circulareconomy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Olivier Langlet, Group CEO of Central Retail Vietnam, stated: “As one of the leading companies in sustainable development initiatives within the retail sector, Central Retail believes that the collaboration with Sparklo underscores our commitment to our ReNEW strategy of being the Green and Sustainable Retailer. Our collaboration with Sparklo embodies these values, and we are proud to take this important step together.”

Central Retail Vietnam and Sparklo began discussing their collaboration to optimize recycling practices in mid-2023. From the beginning of 2024 to the end of April, nearly 65,000 bottles and 14,000 aluminum cans were collected, with a significant increase in collection rates in recent months.

According to the cooperation agreement, from May 2024 onwards, Sparklo and Central Retail will expand the project nationwide, aiming to install 86 RVM Sparklo machines at all GO! Mall across Vietnam by the end of 2024.
